Hey there, I’m Emmy Welcome to Pastry with Me!

Let’s bake some magic together.

Hi, I’m Emmy just a Philly girl with a sweet tooth and a whisk that never seems to stay clean for long. I’m 30 years old, and if you had told me five years ago that I’d be completely obsessed with pastry, I would’ve laughed while biting into a store-bought cookie. But here I am, elbows deep in flour and loving every second of it.

Pastry came into my life by accident. During the early days of quarantine, I was looking for something anything to distract myself. I had never even baked a cake from scratch before, but I figured, “How hard could it be?” (Spoiler: it was harder than I thought.) My first attempt at chocolate chip cookies turned out like sweet hockey pucks, but weirdly, I wasn’t discouraged. I was hooked.

There’s something magical about baking, especially pastry. It’s precise, yes, but it also has this quiet creativity. You take simple things like butter, sugar, and flour, and suddenly, you’ve got flaky croissants or gooey cinnamon rolls that make people’s eyes light up. It still amazes me. And for someone who once couldn’t tell the difference between a tart and a torte, that’s saying something.

I’m completely self-taught well, unless you count late nights watching baking tutorials and Googling things like “why did my choux pastry explode?” I’ve had eclairs deflate, pie crusts shrink, and one unfortunate batch of macarons that looked like tiny flying saucers. But every flop taught me something important and honestly, every win tastes ten times better because of those failures.

Now, I bake as often as I can, sharing my experiments and recipes with anyone who’s just starting out. My goal isn’t perfection it’s confidence. If I can help one person bake their first batch of cookies or fall in love with kneading dough, I’ll call that a win. Whether you’re here to learn how to make buttery puff pastry or just want to not burn your brownies (been there), I’ve got you.

Welcome to my sweet little corner of the kitchen. Let’s roll up our sleeves and make some magic with powdered sugar on top.

With love,
Emmy
